NHS Meeting Wednesday, April 1, at 7:50 am.

 

NHS hours are due April 8.  Failure to submit hours on time could mean not receiving the graduation cords.  If you need an hours sheet, come see Mrs. Hapgood!  Thanks! :)

 

NHS Meeting on Wednesday, April 8--officer elections.  Juniors--the application for officers is in the agreement packet.

 

Juniors---your NHS agreements for next year are due at the latest on April 10.

 

NHS Induction Ceremony is Monday, April 27 at 7 pm.

 The meeting will summarize the recent visit to Oly North, discuss the leadership visits to the other two elementary schools, answer questions about officer elections and plan the end of the year field trip to St Louis or ????

 Juniors--agreements for 2015-2016 NHS membership will be distributed at the meeting.  Due no later than April 10.

ALL NHS HOURS ARE DUE APRIL 8 ---NO EXCEPTION!

NHS Visits Oly North

On Friday, March 20, NHS students visited Oly North for a leadership workshop, entitled Launching Leadership into 6th Grade.  NHS students read a story with the two 5th grade classes, discussed leadership, made paper airplanes decorated with leadership qualities, launched those paper airplanes as symbols of the 5th graders moving onto 6th grade, and did two team building activities.  NHS students also answered 5th grader questions about what middle school is like!

OLY NORTH PRESENTATION ON MARCH 20

• The NHS group will be presenting at Oly North on Friday, March 20 from 10:45 to 11:45 am.

• Students will miss second block and lunch.  We will be back for you to eat during second lunch.

• You must confirm with Mrs. Hapgood that you will attend! Stop by B5 or email her immediately.

• Make sure all materials are at OHS by Wednesday.

• Let's plan on a final workday for your group on Wednesday, March 18 during first lunch in B5.

NHS Plans for Spring

Grade School Leadership Project

 

NHS members will divide up into groups based on the elementary school they attended.  Each group will create a leadership project to present to 5th graders at the elementary school. The day and time of each presentation will be determined after talking to the principals and 5th grade teachers.  Transportation will also be decided once the dates are set. 

 

NHS members will come on the following work days to plan the leadership activities.  

·      Email 5^th grade teacher/call Principal by Monday!  See what day will work

·      First lunch work times in Hapgood’s room

·      North=workday on Tuesday March 10

·      South=workday on Wednesday, March 11

·      West=workday on Thursday, March 12
