NHS Visits Oly West

The NHS students visited Oly West elementary school on Friday, April 24 for a leadership presentation and worked with the 5th graders on qualities of a leader through multiple activities.  The NHS members also answered questions about 6th grade.

 

 

 

NHS Visits Oly South Elementary School

The NHS students visited Oly South Elementary School on Tuesday, April 21 to lead a leadership workshop with 5th grade students.  The NHS leaders discussed leadership traits with the students, then lead them through a series of activities, designed to promote the same skills.  The presentation was concluded with the 5th graders asking questions about 6th grade and the middle school.

 

 

Induction Ceremony

Hello New 2015-2016 NHS members!

 

We are super excited to have you join us in our quest for leadership!  You should all have received an invite to the NHS Induction Ceremony for this Monday, April 27^th beginning at 7 p.m.  We are requesting that all members line up at 6:30 in the library. 

 

There will be a mandatory practice this Friday beginning at 11:15 in the auditorium.  Please plan on attending.

Update: Paintball, Cookout, Induction Practice

Paintball this Sunday is cancelled--not enough people signed up to attend.

The cookout is still on at Funk's Grove, 5 pm on Sunday. 

The Oly South visit is Monday, April 20 from 8:20-10 am.  Meet at 8:20 in Hapgood's room.

The NHS meeting on Wednesday, April 22 is moved from 7:50 to advisory time in B5.  We will go over the induction ceremony during that time.

The Oly West visit is Friday, April 24.  Brief planning meeting is Wednesday, April 22 first lunch--bring your lunch to B5.  This should only take 10 minutes!

 There will be a meeting on Wednesday, April 22 during first lunch to finalize the plans.  

On April 24, we will meet in Mrs. Hapgood's room at the start of second block.   We will arrive at Oly West at 10:30 and do a 45 minute presentation.  We will be back for you to eat lunch during advisory time.  Please alert your second block teachers that you will be gone that block.

Next NHS Meeting April 15 at 7:50

Please see below a summary of today’s meeting.

 NHS members who are interested in becoming an officer for the 2015-2016 need to apply and prepare to a speech.  Speeches will be given at our next meeting, April 15^th at 8 a.m. in Hapgood’s room.  Positions available: President, VP, Treasurer, and Secretary

2.       End of the year trip tentatively planned:  Sunday, April 19^th,  3:00 p.m., Paintball, Funks Grove, Cook-out at Funks Grove following paintballing.  Sign-up for sides at our next meeting, April 15^th at 8 a.m. in Hapgood’s room.

3.       Induction Ceremony- April 27^th, 7 p.m.  All students must attend, dress clothes required.  Procedures will be discussed at next meeting, April 15^th, 8 a.m. in Hapgood’s room. 

4.       Hours are due TODAY- April 9^th

5.       Agreements are due TODAY- April 9^th
