NHS Hosts Slightly Haunted Halloween Halls for Oly Elementary Students

On Sunday, the Olympia High School National Honor Society hosted its second annual Slightly Haunted Halloween Halls carnival for Oly elementary school students from 2-4 pm at the high school.  Over 450 children and parents attended the event.

The OHS students decorated the academic halls of the high school in various themes--pumpkin, princess, superhero and spooky.  Visiting children were able to trick or treat in the halls plus play games, do activities and take photos with the costumed NHS members. The mad scientists were back this year with ooey gooey items to examine!  In the commons, children were also able to plays a variety of games or visit the face painters.

The event was designed as a free community outreach program by the NHS membership.  Also canned goods and monetary donations were collected.  The donations will be taken by the NHS officers and students in the Life Skills class to the Stanford Food Pantry on Nov. 9.
